Flowing through Perimenopause and Menopause with Ease

  • Metta Yoga Corte Madera 8 Tamalpais Drive Corte Madera, CA, 94925 (map)

For so long we have associated menopause as a time fraught with symptoms: hot flashes, brain fog, weight gain, sleep, libido, joint pain, and dryness. Menopause has become something that we suffer through. It is time to change that!

Women’s bodies begin changing and preparing for menopause in their 30’s and 40’s. Most women transition through menopause in their early to mid 50’s and many women continue to experience menopause-related symptoms in and beyond their 60’s. Women are juggling so much. By perimenopause and menopause they need a reset and their bodies are shouting out that it is time to reframe and refocus on themselves, their goals, their desires, and their needs.

Many women feel isolated and confused during perimenopause and unaware of the longterm changes their body makes after menopause. What we eat along with supportive lifestyle habits build a foundation to help women feel better throughout this journey.

Hormone replacement can be a game changer for some women and the risks may out way the benefits for others. Many women are confused about the best option for them and when to start and/or stop HRT. Their practitioners often don’t have a lot of training around menopause. What works for one, may not be optimal for another.

How can we ease through this process and come out shining on the other side?

In this workshop we will focus on what happens when we change our mindset around perimenopause and menopause and embrace this natural change with acceptance, curiosity, and community.

Women respond best to stress when supported by other women. Our goal is to create a safe place where women can share, ask questions, and learn realistic strategies to support their health and wellness during this journey. Our hope is to create an ongoing women’s circle.

We will begin with a nurturing yoga flow for all levels focusing on grounding, breathing and mindful meditation. Get lifted and energized as you move with intention and joy in community (sangha) Special postures specific to relieving symptoms of perimenopause and menopause will be held longer for space to feel and restore the body.

Once we have moved our bodies, we will join in a discussion and open exchange about how we can support ourselves. We will discuss food, supplements, hormones, exercise, managing stress, sleep, and the roles detoxification, gut health, and inflammation play in the menopause journey.

You will leave the workshop feeling renewed and supported in a community, with tangible strategies to support your bodies during and after this transition.
