Revel in the deep support offered by this restorative yoga practice that will stimulate your parasympathetic nervous system to minimize the effects of chronic stress and restore balance. Live ambient sitar music by Paddy Sullivan will soothe the soul. In today’s culture that focuses so much on activity, progress, and doing (sympathetic nervous system activation) there lacks a focus on the importance of stillness, quiet and rest (parasympathetic nervous system activation). This can result in a state of chronic physiological stress, which can contribute to difficulties with sleep, digestion and can interfere with one’s immune response. With a regular restorative practice, you can retrain your nervous system to be in parasympathetic state.
What to expect:
We will maximally utilize props in to provide full support to the body. In that support, the body is able to release, find ease and restore. Each pose will be held for 15-30 minutes. Live ambient music throughout class.
