Full Moon Kirtan with Mirabai Warkulwiz and Uma Reed
at Metta Corte Madera Sat. Sept 26th 7-8:15pm
Join Uma and Mirabai for their first Full Moon Kirtan debut together at Metta. Among the many spiritual practices, kirtan — devotional chanting — is truly a jewel. It's one of the most open-hearted expressions of bhakti yoga, the path of awakening the heart through devotion and surrender.
Join Uma and Mirabai as they take turns leading call-and-response chants accompanied by harmonium and guitar. They'll guide you through the words and meanings behind each song, most of which are gentle repetitions of the deities' names in Sanskrit.
As you chant, you may notice your mind beginning to soften and release its usual patterns of grasping and resistance — the ones that keep us tangled in life's ups and downs. The Sanskrit sounds carry a powerful vibration that opens the heart, quiets the mind, and invites a deeper sense of peace.
There's no experience necessary — just come as you are and let your voice join in. Come chant, come listen, come simply be — all are welcome.
Cost: $35. (10% off for Metta Yoga members applies automatically at checkout)
