Somatics and Yoga Weekend Immersion with Dana Damara

Join Dana Damara at Metta Yoga for Module 7 of her 300-Hour Embodied Yoga Method, an advanced yoga training rooted in embodied practice, philosophy, somatics, subtle body study, leadership, and teaching mastery.

This weekend immersion may be taken as part of the full 300-hour training or as a stand-alone module for those who want to deepen their learning in a specific area of practice.

About This Module

In this module, you’ll bridge yoga with somatics and trauma-informed practices to create safer, more inclusive, and more compassionate spaces for students.

Grounded in both modern research and yogic wisdom, this weekend explores how embodied awareness, nervous system regulation, and felt experience can support emotional integration, self-understanding, and healing-centered teaching.

What You’ll Explore

  • The connection between yoga, somatics, and embodied awareness

  • Trauma-informed principles for safer teaching environments

  • Nervous system regulation through movement, breath, and presence

  • How felt experience can deepen practice and self-inquiry

  • Tools for emotional integration and compassionate teaching

  • How to create inclusive spaces that honor each student’s lived experience

Why This Module Matters

Somatic practice invites us to listen to the body from the inside out. Rather than approaching yoga only through external form, this work helps students build awareness, agency, and a deeper relationship with their own nervous system.

This module supports teachers and practitioners in creating spaces where students feel seen, respected, and empowered to practice in a way that honors their body, pace, and experience.

Who This Is For

This immersion is designed for:

  • Yoga teachers

  • Teachers-in-training

  • Dedicated practitioners

  • Students interested in somatics and trauma-informed yoga

  • Anyone wanting to understand the nervous system through embodied practice

  • Teachers who want to create safer, more inclusive, and healing-centered spaces

Friday, July 16: 6:00pm–9:00pm
