This class meets Wednesdays from 3:30 pm - 4:15 pm at Metta Mama in Corte Madera for 10 weeks, September 30 - December 9, skipping 11/25. Drop-in’s welcome!
Yoga helps children to manage emotions and provides opportunities to explore fun physical movement, develop body awareness, coordination, and of course, to play! We will create space to connect through yoga poses, games, storytelling and more. Through the poses your child will build balance, strength and flexibility.
We will also introduce working with the breath in an imaginative way that is accessible. Yoga and mindfulness have been shown to improve both physical and mental health in school-age children by enhancing focus, memory, self-esteem, academic performance, and classroom behavior, and can even reduce anxiety and stress in children. In this series, your little one will have countless opportunities to discover shapes, explore balance and the celebrate the body's incredible abilities.
This class is designed for ages 5-7. Class size is limited.
Parents welcome to drop off.

Jen is passionate about helping students of all ages develop a love of yoga while empowering them to improve their overall well-being. Jen’s youth classes offer fun and playful practices that build strength and endurance while cultivating a sense of mindfulness and peace. Jen utilizes an engaging and warm approach coupled with imaginative, age-appropriate sequencing to foster emotional regulation, focus and confidence.
Jen’s own love of yoga began in a prenatal class 20 years ago and quickly deepened when she was faced with a sudden health challenge. After stepping away from her career in Human Resources, she began a personal journey to rebuild her health with the help of yoga. Since that time, Jen has become a dedicated advocate for health and wellness while also volunteering in her daughters’ schools and coaching various youth organizations.
Jen completed her 200-hour RYT and IYK® Kids Yoga certifications at Metta Yoga and continues to study and expand her knowledge through ongoing education.
