Spring PreK-2nd Grade Kids Yoga Class Series

This class meets Mondays from 4:15 pm - 5:00 pm at Metta Mama in San Rafael for 6 weeks, April 13 - May 18. Drop-in’s welcome!

Yoga helps children to manage emotions and provides opportunities to explore fun physical movement, develop body awareness, coordination, and of course, to play! We will create space to connect through yoga poses, games, storytelling and more. Through the poses your child will build balance, strength and flexibility.

We will also introduce working with the breath in an imaginative way that is accessible. Yoga and mindfulness have been shown to improve both physical and mental health in school-age children by enhancing focus, memory, self-esteem, academic performance, and classroom behavior, and can even reduce anxiety and stress in children. In this series, your little one will have countless opportunities to discover shapes, explore balance and the celebrate the body's incredible abilities.

This class is designed for ages 4-8. Class size is limited.

Our 5-year-old took the Yoga Kids series this fall, and it was such a good experience all around. The class asked our kid to focus, be still, stretch, and connect with her breath and the others in the room, all at a totally appropriate, kid-friendly, joyful level. She loved going -- and, to be honest, we've had some struggle getting her to stick with activities that are physically challenging for her -- so her enthusiasm as well as the way we watched her grow over the series were both huge signs that it was a great fit. Thank you, Metta! - Juliet

“This Yoga class is an activity my daughter (and I) have looked forward to week after week. Stacey is wonderful! She facilitates in a way that engages the children with fun as well as challenging them to practice maturity skills like discipline, frustration tolerance, and patience. They aren't squealing and running around the studio with manic kid energy, but a few giggle fits do break out here and there. The best part is they all walk out with smiles and things to share (and parents get 45 minutes of quiet in the hall). As a former yoga teacher, it was important for me to find a class that was focused less on little tricks to keep them excited and engaged, but really teaching them foundational yogic skills so they could participate from a relaxed and focused manner. This class is it! P.S. Bedtime is always a breeze on yoga nights." - Ashley Travis, mom of kindergartner.

Parents welcome to drop off.

Teen + Tween Aerial Yoga Series with Tiana

Sign up your kid for a 9- Week Tween Aerial Yoga Series, with Tiana Baumsteiger!
April 16th - June 11th, Thursdays 4-4:45pm at Metta Yoga Corte Madera

Get Ready to FLY!  This is for kids 10 and older who have taken a yoga class before (this is to ensure safety).

This 9-week Aerial Yoga series is designed just for tweens who are ready to lift off the mat and explore yoga in a whole new way. Using soft aerial hammocks, students will stretch, strengthen, invert, and float through the air - all while building confidence, body awareness, emotional regulation, and a deep sense of inner calm.

Each week blends mindful movement, playful challenges, breathwork, and safe, supported inversions that help weens feel empowered, brave and RAD from the inside out.

Tiana has been a certified Aerial Yoga Instructor since 2017 and the heart behind Love Is Rad and Rad Girls Rising, a youth empowerment movement dedicated to helping girls build confidence, emotional resilience, and self-love. Scroll down to learn more about her!

Important Requirement  - Read ME!

Because Aerial Yoga involves inversions, balance, and aerial safety skills, participants must have a foundation in ground/floor yoga prior to joining this series.

What Tweens Will Learn:

  • Safe aerial hammock skills + introductory inversions

  • Balance, strength, flexibility & mind-body connection

  • Confidence-building movement

  • Guided breathwork + grounding techniques

  • Playful partner and group activities

  • Deep rest in a floating cocoon (a crowd favorite!)
