Pelvic Floor Prep for Labor & Delivery

  • Metta Mama San Rafael 851 4th Street San Rafael, CA 94901 (map)

This course is designed and led by Dr. Cassie Hyde, a pelvic floor physical therapist. The information is designed for people in the second half of their pregnancy. This class meets twice for one hour each time on Thursday January 8 and 15 from 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM and will cover a variety of information like pregnancy-safe hip mobility, laboring positions, pelvic floor down training/relaxation, and postpartum expectations.

The class will help expecting parents understand their bodies, prepare for labor, and feel confident heading into birth. Each session blends simple anatomy, guided breathwork, and hands-on exercises to teach how the pelvic floor and core work during pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum recovery.

Cassie has had many years of experience working with pregnant and postpartum populations in Mill Valley and helping folks prep for birth. The goal of this course is to create a small group space to share evidence-based information and practice movements to improve the birth process.

Participants will learn:

  • How to find, contract, and relax the pelvic floor and deep core

  • Techniques for pelvic floor relaxation and effective, efficient pushing

  • Useful hip mobility exercises and laboring positions

  • What to expect postpartum

You’ll leave with practical tools, clear guidance, and handouts to continue practicing at home- plus a supportive space to ask questions throughout your pregnancy journey.
