Whether you feel called to teach or simply want to deepen your personal practice, this training offers a grounded and supportive space to explore asana, anatomy, pranayama, meditation, philosophy, and teaching methodology.
Led and developed by Michele Klink, this in-person training blends tradition, thoughtful study, and practical skill-building.
Along the way, youβll deepen your understanding of the practice, strengthen your relationship to your own voice, and build the tools to teach with greater clarity, confidence, and care.

What Youβll Learn

A deep dive into the physical poses of yoga, from foundation and alignment, to sequencing and adjustments. You will do an in-depth study of the key poses, in each category of asana (standing poses, balancing, forward bends, backbends, twists, arm balances and inversions). You will study the physical benefits, indications and contraindications for each pose, break down proper alignment, and understand both the English and Sanskrit names and meanings. You will also practice various breath and meditation techniques to prepare the mind and body for an impactful class experience.

Pranayama is breath regulation and life force expansion. Learn the practice of managing and controlling the breath, and expanding prana, which is vital energy, life force. You will learn how and when to use different pranayama techniques when teaching and in your own personal practice. Meditation will be practiced throughout the training building a foundation to support an authentic and deep experience of the yoga practice. You will develop an at-home meditation practice.

Philosophy circles are a highlight of the Teacher Training program. You will participate in reading, chanting and discussing the ancient wisdom of the classic yoga texts of Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and Bhagavad Gita. You will learn how to apply ancient philosophy into modern day language through group discussion, storytelling, chanting, mantras and meditations.

And also the study of energetic (subtle) body, including the koshas, chakra system, nadis, and vayus. You will learn to apply the principals of anatomy to your teachings and your personal practice, including an understanding of the anatomical benefits and contraindications for each pose and healthy movement patterns.

Learn how to sequence, structure, and effectively lead a yoga class. You will learn how to give effective demonstrations and to teach with props and encourage modifications for a safe experience for all levels. You will be given opportunity to cultivate and effectively use your authentic voice, and practice various teaching and sequencing techniques.

As a yoga teacher, you are living examples of the yoga lifestyle to the students. You have a responsibility to them, to all teachers, and to ourselves to behave with values. You will review proper conduct and ethical guidelines to follow as a Yoga teacher.

You will be introduced to a variety of topics that may prompt a deeper desire of study. These topics include: Therapeutic-Oriented Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Kundalini Yoga and Prenatal Yoga.

Learn how to market yourself as a yoga instructor through the use of advertising, social media and personal contact. You will learn how to develop professional skills to retain students and grow classes. Basic business techniques and tips will be emphasized for you to thrive as a yoga teacher.

Training Schedule
This training takes place over 10 weekends over 3 consecutive months, from September through December 2026, offering an immersive in-person experience while allowing time between sessions for integration, study, and practice.

Sundays Β· 11:00 amβ6:00 pm at Metta Yoga San RafaelIn addition to weekend sessions, the training includes individualized coursework such as assignments and online material.
Trainees are strongly encouraged to attend all scheduled sessions. If time needs to be missed, up to 20 hours of training may be made up through a combination of paid private sessions with Michele Klink and self-study, while still remaining eligible for graduation.
The program also includes 3 classes per week with Michele Klink at Metta Yoga. While not required, maintaining an active Metta Yoga membership during the training is encouraged to help support a more consistent practice and allow you to experience a broader range of classes.

Michele is a teacherβs teacher, with over 15 years of experience training yoga teachers and over 25 years as a Yoga Instructor and Yoga Therapist.
Her background reflects a deep understanding of asana, anatomy, therapeutics, and functional movement, supported by studies in psychology and philosophy. Influenced by Iyengar, Ashtanga, Restorative, Yin, and Therapeutics, her teaching emphasizes alignment precision, safe modifications, and breath awareness.
Micheleβs classes blend strength, longer holds, and meditative vinyasa flow, helping students connect more deeply to their bodies. Her approach is holistic and multi-dimensional, supporting well-being across body, mind, and spirit. She also works closely with athletes and collaborates with medical professionals for injury prevention and recovery.
Michele Klink, E-RYT 500, YACEP, C-IAYT, has over led teacher trainings for over 15 years. Michele has uniquely developed the Teacher Training curriculum in conjunction with Metta Yoga to reflect the tradition, art and science of the ancient path of Yoga.

$3,699 for the full training.
