Perinatal Professionals Meetup & Yoga Event

  • Metta Mama San Rafael 851 4th Street San Rafael, CA 94901 (map)

Connect. Learn. Move.

Join us for a unique gathering designed specifically for perinatal professionals: doulas, midwives, lactation consultants, therapists, childbirth educators, OBGYN's, nurses, and anyone who supports parents during pregnancy and postpartum.

This event is a chance to connect with like-minded professionals, learn about the science and benefits of prenatal and postnatal yoga, and experience firsthand how mindful movement and breathwork can support the physical and emotional well-being of both birthing people and care providers.

The afternoon will include:

  • A short educational talk on why yoga is such a powerful tool for pregnancy and postpartum recovery

  • A gentle yoga practice suitable for all bodies and experience levels

  • Networking and community connection with fellow perinatal practitioners

Come ready to move, share, and deepen your understanding of how yoga can enhance perinatal care. And leave inspired to bring this knowledge to the families you serve.

Facilitated by Tracy Massillon, Maternal/Child Health Nurse and Board Certified Lactation Consultant & Ashley Stachon, Director of Metta Mama and perInatal yoga instructor

Metta Mama is a yoga studio and community created to support women through every stage of the journey into motherhood from fertility and pregnancy to postpartum, parenting, and beyond. Rooted in compassion, science informed practices, and nervous system support, Metta Mama offers a safe, welcoming space where women can slow down, reconnect with their bodies, and feel truly supported.

We offer a wide range of classes including fertility yoga, prenatal yoga, labor prep yoga, postnatal yoga, baby wearing fitness, mom and tots yoga, family yoga, kids yoga, and teen yoga. Each class is intentionally designed to support the changing physical needs of the body by building strength, stability, mobility, and resilience while also regulating the nervous system to reduce stress and promote healing.

At Metta Mama, we understand that motherhood is not only a physical experience, but a deeply mental and emotional one. Our practices help calm the mind, ease anxiety, build confidence, and cultivate trust in your body’s innate wisdom. By supporting nervous system regulation, we help shift the body out of fight or flight and into a state where connection, growth, and healing can occur.

Beyond classes, Metta Mama offers workshops, events, and panel discussions that create space for education, honest conversation, and shared experience. We believe community is essential because no one is meant to navigate motherhood alone. Here, women are seen, heard, and supported at every stage of their female journey.

Metta Mama is more than a studio. It is a place to feel grounded, empowered, and deeply connected to yourself and to others.

Ashley Stachon has been teaching yoga for over 12 years, but found her true calling when she got pregnant with her daughter in 2016 and started teaching pre and postnatal yoga. Passionate about guiding women through the transformative process of pregnancy and becoming a parent, Ashley teaches a strong, alignment based practice where mamas can connect more deeply to their own body through movement, breath, mindfulness practices, and nervous system support. Ashley strives to empower her students by teaching them about the changes that take place in their body during pregnancy and after giving birth. Now a mother of two, she knows the importance of creating a community of strong women that can support each other and she is honored to do that work at Metta Mama.

Tracy has supported new families since 2003, beginning as a Birth and Postpartum Doula and now practicing as a Maternal/Child Health Nurse and Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She facilitates Postpartum Doula trainings and hosts perinatal professional gatherings. She is passionate about building community among care specialists, enabling providers to refer clients confidently and support families comprehensively.
